The present project is about connecting people with Sortland’s past, present and future. The project reflects the interest of local groups and organizations in redefining Sortland’s future while preserving historical memories. The aim is to start a dialogue about the city’s appearance and it’s relationship to the sea by connecting the people with their own local history and surroundings.

The project is part of the Artist in Residence Vesteraalen* program in Sortland, Norway for 2022.

*AiR Vesteraalen (AiRV) is owned by the Nordland Academy for Art and Science, the Cultural Cooperation in Vesterålen and Museum Nord. The project is financed by Sparebanken Nord-Norge Samfunnsløftet, Nordland County Municipality, the Cultural Council Norwegian Culture Fund, and the municipalities of Bø, Øksnes, Andøy, Sortland and Hadsel.
